The Global Call for Action to End Caste Discrimination is an outcome of the International Consultation on Good Practices and Strategies to Eliminate Caste Based Discrimination held in Nepal (29 Nov – 1 Dec 2011). In the Global Call, the following recommendations were made to the government of Japan:

Japan, we applaud the adoption of legislative and policy measures to address Buraku discrimination and now call for enactment of a law to prohibit racial discrimination, including Buraku discrimination.
