The International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN) is a human rights organization working for the elimination of discrimination based on caste. We focus primarily on international advocacy work with the United Nations and European Union and on global awareness raising, facilitating those affected by caste discrimination to have their voices heard at the highest levels. The secretariat is based in Copenhagen.
We are looking for Finance Administrator preferably with relevant experience in the human rights field. The Finance administrator will be responsible for managing the finances and administration in IDSN with the support of a book-keeper.
The suitable candidate will have solid knowledge within accounting, budgeting and financial donor reporting. The candidate is required to have excellent IT skills including a high proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, and excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. The ability to work independently is also essential for the role and hence we are seeking a motivated self-starter with a dedicated approach.
The position is 3 days per week, initially for six months with the possibility of extension. Our offices are in the centrally located Vartov building, Farvergade 27D (first floor) Copenhagen K 1463, and the work is in an engaging and informal environment.
Finance Administrator responsibilities and required skills:
The primary role is managing donor relations in accordance with their financial requirements, such as requests for installments as well as financial reporting. Other tasks include:
- staff administration, including elaboration of contracts etc.
- cash-flow budget and overall budgeting for IDSN
- regular budget controlling
- preparing accounts for donors
- annual accounts preparation to the auditor in collaboration with the bookkeeper
We are looking for a person with at least 3 years experience within financial management including the above tasks, preferably from an NGO or a similar institution. Solid skills within accounting systems and excel are essential.
English is the working language, and the person we are looking for must be flexible and willing to take on different tasks at short notice.
Commencement preferred end–December, but for the right candidate flexible arrangements are possible.
Salary is in accordance with qualifications and the collective agreements of central government staff (AC-overenskomst).
